Journal editors reject manuscripts primarily because of inadequate theory. Hence, this workshop will help you create and improve your theory (in contrast to literature reviews). Learn and practice: (a) identifying your research’s key concepts and their components, (b) specifying cause-effect mechanisms (A -> B -> C -> D), and (c) understanding how these mechanisms differ across people, situations and/or time. After a brief mini-lecture, you will specify your theory, receive feedback, and give feedback on other participants’ theories.
