The studies in this theme will be related to advantaged /disadvantaged schools, which are those with their socio-economic profile (i.e., the socio-economic status of a typical student in the school) above/below that of the typical students in the country, namely the country’s/economy’s mean socio-economic status (OECD, 2013).
The studies in this theme will be related to assessment and accountability in the fields of policies on examination, assessment practices and purposes, use of achievement data beyond schools, quality assurance, teacher appraisal, teacher feedback, and effect of feedback on students’ assessment.
The studies of this theme will be related to children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, as well as their family, teacher, and school contributors.
The studies in this theme will explore factors related to gender differences in mathematics and reading achievement.
The studies in this theme will include immigrants’ and ethnic minorities’ achievement, attitudes and behaviors along with their community, school and classroom learning environments. In addition, there will be a focus on community attitudes to such groups.
