BIOGRAPHY:
Magdalena Mo Ching Mok is Chair Professor of Assessment and Evaluation at Department of Psychology, and Director of Assessment Research Centre at The Education University of Hong Kong. She completed her undergraduate study at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has MSc degree from the University of Glasgow and PhD degree from The University of Hong Kong. Prof. Mok is Editor-in-Chief of Educational Psychology: An International Journal of Experimental Educational Psychology. She has successfully graduated 5 PhD and 4 EDD students at The Education University of Hong Kong and Macquarie University. Prof. Mok works in the area of assessment and self-directed learning. She has published extensively in these areas.
ABSTRACT:
Technology enhanced learning and assessment (TELA) has the potential to enhance student learning by being flexible and adaptive to learners’ needs, engaging, interactive, and enabling assessment for learning through immediate feedback. This presentation provides an overview of TELA hardware (e.g. mobile devices) and software (e.g. auto-tutoring system) prominent in classroom learning in recent years, the role of teachers in promoting TELA, teachers’ readiness, and implementation barriers and strategies for educational applications.
